We are very excited to share that the new Guthrie’s Double Chairlift will be open and operational for the 2026 winter snow season!!
The new Guthries Double Chair marks a major expansion for the mountain, unlocking a superb snow bowl and adding new ski runs for guests to explore throughout the season. If you’ve been to Charlotte Pass before, you know this side of the hill has some of the best snow and trails the resort has to offer but has constantly battled poor coverage over the lower rocky section. In the past, this has meant this side of the resort has been unable to open but gone are those days!!
This project has been years in the making. Charlotte Pass Snow Resort (CPSR) has worked tirelessly over the last few years to deliver this new lift. Between weather delays, complex environmental and regulatory requirements, and the logistical challenge of building in a remote snow environment, getting the lift operational before the 2026 season was no small feat. Over 2025/2026 summer, we watched Blackhawk helicopters drop chairlift pillars into place and transport countless loads of concrete and supplies up the top of the hill. It’s been thrilling to see this all unfold but we are much more excited to make some track on that side of the hill very soon!
For returning visitors, it’s a chance to experience Charlotte Pass in a completely new way. For first-time guests, there has never been a better season to discover what makes Australia’s highest snow resort so special.
With fresh terrain, breathtaking views, and a whole new snow bowl waiting to be explored, Winter 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons yet.
What will be your first run down the new Guthries Double Chairlift?
